AND in English and Spanish
| English Excel | Spanish Excel | |
|---|---|---|
| Function name | AND | Y |
| Syntax | =AND(logical1, [logical2], ...) | =Y(logical1; [logical2]; ...) |
| Example | =AND(A1>0,B1>0) | =Y(A1>0;B1>0) |
Argument names are shown in English for reference. Spanish examples use the semicolon setting.
What AND does
Returns TRUE only when all conditions are true. Example: True when A1 and B1 are both above zero.
Semicolons, commas and decimals
Spanish versions of Excel separate arguments with a semicolon or a comma depending on the regional settings of the computer. With semicolons, decimals are written with a comma (3,14). With commas, decimals use a point (3.14). FormulaCheck converts both.
A common mistake
Text and empty cells inside a referenced range are ignored, so ranges may not behave as you expect.
